Jessica Chicoine

Jessica has always been driven by a great curiosity for what surrounds her and a passion for the world of jewellery. In 2010, she began a DEC at the Montreal School of Jewellery, where she graduated in 2013, winning the school’s private collection award. That same year, she was a finalist in the 10th Annual Student Exhibition at the L. A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa, Canada. Her thirst for learning led her to study industrial design at the Université de Montréal, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2017. During her studies, she discovered a passion for textiles. She then set up the Atelier Chicoine, a laboratory for exploring different materials, such as textiles, paper and sterling silver. A member of the arts and crafts council since 2017, Jessica is also involved in regional culture as a director of Culture Laurentides.

In 2021, Jessica was inspired by the pandemic to explore and present a new body of colourful crochet work. Her work has been exhibited in Halifax, New York and Ottawa. Tired of the dark, she now wants to use her work to inspire people to dare and release their true colour.
