Meriel discovered clay in 2018 and has since made it her full-time passion. She’s a former student of the Visual Arts Centre, however the majority of her experience comes from working and teaching at local pottery studios in Montreal. Out of her own shared-studio space, Meriel creates wheel-thrown, vintage-inspired tableware and one-off decorative pieces. Her choice of forms and function are greatly inspired by Scandinavian and mid-century modern design, while their surface decoration stems from her own nostalgia of people and places dearest to her.
