About the course
This week we’re taking a closer look at the world around us! We open our eyes wide and make observation journals dedicated to the details and little things that often go unnoticed.
In the afternoons, we’ll take walks in the park, encouraging careful observation of our surroundings, and express our thoughts and perceptions of the world in the journals we’ve made in the morning, inspired by artist Tania Lara‘s Autogéographies.
Day at the Camp:
8:15 to 9 am: Pre-camp activities / Drop-Off (included in the registration price)
9 to 9:30 am: Icebreaker and Movement time
9:30 am to 12 pm: Workshop with an Art Teacher
The morning session offers a creative workshop atmosphere in which to explore a variety of art forms that change each week. Some of the techniques and approaches we will be exploring this summer are collage, print-making, bookmaking, sculpture, assemblage, and large scale artmaking. Experimentation, creativity, and self-expression are encouraged, as well as skill development and an understanding of basic artistic concepts.
