Camp - Imagine (7-8 yrs old)

Course info

About the course

It’s almost the end of summer, but not the end of daydreaming! In this last week before school starts, we’re imagining what we’d like to change in the world to make it a happier place! Very often, by imagining what we can change, we manage to do it 😉

In the afternoons, we take inspiration from Winnie Truong‘s dioramas and we create mixed-media collages representing an imaginary space for our campers to contemplate for the rest of the year to come.

Day at the Camp:

8:15 to 9 am: Pre-camp activities / Drop-Off (included in the registration price)

9 to 9:30 am: Icebreaker and Movement time

9:30 am to 12 pm: Workshop with an Art Teacher
The morning session offers a creative workshop atmosphere in which to explore a variety of art forms that change each week. Some of the techniques and approaches we will be exploring this summer are collage, print-making, bookmaking, sculpture, assemblage, and large scale artmaking. Experimentation, creativity, and self-expression are encouraged, as well as skill development and an understanding of basic artistic concepts.

12:30 to 2:00 pm: The first part of the afternoon includes physical activities, with trips to Westmount or Prince Albert Park for organised and informal play. Once a week the participants visit the Westmount pool!
