Sawing bootcamp

This intermediate to advanced course is aimed at those that would like to level up their sawing techniques. If you’ve been finding sawing intricate shapes too difficult, you will learn everything you need to master this essential skill of jewellery making. We will focus on posture and ergonomics as well as the finishing techniques specific to small, hard-to-reach shapes. Over the semester, you will create a lacy brooch set with a cabochon, and, depending on each student’s level and ease, a pair of earrings or a ring. If you’ve felt intimidated by projects requiring a lot of detailed sawing, this course is for you. Prerequisites: one foundational jewellery course.
