About the course
This course introduces participants to a range of textile transformation and experimental embellishment techniques. Through demonstrations, guided prompts, and play, students will explore unconventional mark making methods using both traditional and non-traditional fibrous materials. Techniques include heat setting organza, needle felting, appliqué, soft relief work, wire embedding, beading, embellishment, embroidery and more. By the end of the course, students will have created a collection of textile-based expressive samplers and small fibre based assemblages. No prerequisites.
