About the course
This workshop explores methods for sketching large-format compositions and working with perspective through painting seascapes, skies, urban landscapes, trees and foliage, water, and more. Students will draw inspiration from nature, photographs, and masterpieces by traditional and contemporary watercolorists from diverse cultures. Students study a wide range of gestures and techniques, gradually developing approaches that give their paintings vibrant color, tonal depth, and textural complexity. Prerequisite: one session of watercolor.
