WEAVING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Weaving the Neighbourhood was a creative project conceived by the invited facilitator Zoe Compton, who is an art educator, an environmentalist, and a textile artist. The project took place in person at CAPSC over a ten-week period. The objective of the project was to create a collaborative tapestry of Pointe-Saint-Charles (PSC), inviting participants to reflect and share their personal relationships with the neighbourhood.
Participants had the chance to experiment with various art media, including drawing, painting, and tapestry weaving on a loom. With the goal of creating a common place that fosters the reception of entertainment, exchange, and growth, the Intergenerational Art Project took the form of an installation created from the participants’ artworks. The project was displayed at the McClure Gallery in July 2022.
