Since August 2023, the Visual Arts Centre (VAC) has welcomed, on a daily basis, a group of students from Wagar, the adult education centre, for adults with special needs. Indeed, the group has its dedicated art studio, accessible on the ground floor of the VAC and they have access to artistic equipment and tools.
Anna Persichilli is the artist and social integration teacher, who teaches them and who dreamed of this program where students could have access to a visual arts program in real professional studios, within an artistic community.
When she knocked on our door in June 2022, with this idea, we welcomed it with enthusiasm. This group of students is part of the Visual Arts Centre and brings a lot of joy and pride.
At the end of each school year, they present their work at the McClure Gallery, located on the ground floor of the Centre. This year the exhibition will take place from June 26 to 28, 2024.
