We’re entering the second half of the summer under the banner of expression! We express who we are, what we want and, above all, how we can be more united. During this week, campers will be introduced to several bonding techniques, such as rope and braid making.
In the afternoons, we’ll be inspired by artist Nari Ward‘s work We The People, which uses laces of all colours to symbolize the richness of diversity.
Day at the Camp:
8:15 to 9 am: Pre-camp activities / Drop-Off (included in the registration price)
9 to 9:30 am: Icebreaker and Movement time
9:30 am to 12 pm: Workshop with an Art Teacher
The morning session offers a creative workshop atmosphere in which to explore a variety of art forms that change each week. Some of the techniques and approaches we will be exploring this summer are collage, print-making, bookmaking, sculpture, assemblage, and large scale artmaking. Experimentation, creativity, and self-expression are encouraged, as well as skill development and an understanding of basic artistic concepts.
