Clay Basket Workshop – Coiling and Engobe Painting

In this hands-on ceramic workshop, participants will explore the traditional coiling technique to create their own basket-inspired clay vessel. Guided step-by-step, they will learn how to build with coils, shape their forms, and add texture and detail to personalize their piece. Once the baskets are constructed, participants will use colored engobes (slips) to decorate their surfaces with patterns, symbols, or natural tones inspired by woven materials.

This workshop encourages creativity and mindfulness while introducing key handbuilding and surface design techniques in ceramics. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is required.
