Displaced Readings

As part of the course, students will be invited to transform a found book using different drawing, collage and wash techniques. In order to create this hybrid object, between the book and the sketchbook, students will be guided through the process with classroom exercises, critiques of the work in progress and presentations on contemporary drawing practices. The objective of this course, which is both rigorous and fun, is to end the session with a completed work, a transformed book, an original artwork! Prerequisite: one session of drawing.
