Intensive Workshop: Cast in place

2 full days (Sept. 29 and Oct.13)

If you are Interested in adding another dimension to your work, this intensive workshop in the popular wax technique of casting stones in place will teach you how to create unique jewellery. Create a wax piece with embedded stones, then have these pieces cast in metal. The second day (2 weeks later), you will finish and polish the cast pieces. Some knowledge of basic jewellery techniques is required. Information will be provided about where you can take your wax pieces to be cast. Feel free to bring your own stones, though please note that not all stones will survive the casting process. Diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and cubic zirconia are the safest. The teacher will have some stones available for purchase.
