Paul Klee, Tunisia and Abstraction - Online

Course info

About the course

Paul Klee’s voyage to North Africa was an important moment in his career, when he truly embraced colour and enjoyed simplifying shapes. His loosely structured, captivating watercolours from this period are imbued with coloured light in Klee’s signature playful manner. We can learn much from these early paintings as we embark on our own exploration towards abstraction. Inspired by nature, by landscape and architecture, we’ll paint with layered transparencies and syncopated rhythms. Prerequisite: two sessions of watercolour.
