About the course

This intro to portraiture for oil painters addresses palette preparation, underpainting, and a lively, alla prima paint application. You will learn to mix skin tones from a simplified, limited palette and progress toward more vibrant, chromatic mixtures, with two complete expressive portraits as the goal. You will work from live models. Prerequisite: some drawing and oil painting experience.
