Portraits in Ink: Fluid Forms and Expressions - New

This course explores contemporary approaches to portraiture through the unpredictable, fluid and relatively new medium of alcohol inks. Inspired by the expressive abstraction and layering students will create dynamic portraits that go beyond likeness and bring emotion and expression into their drawings. Working on non-porous surfaces like Yupo paper, students will experiment with controlled accidents, layered mark-making, and subtle distortions of the human form.

Each session will build on exercises in drawing, ink manipulation, and compositional exploration resulting in a final piece that reflects a personal and poetic approach to portraiture. No prerequite.
