About the course

During the course we will learn different sewing and textile piecing techniques using the visual vocabulary of illustration as a referent. By approaching fabric and sewing as an expanded means of drawing, we will grow acquainted with the material as we explore themes of composition and narrative. Each class we will look at a different illustration reference alongside a new sewing technique. This class is exploratory and looks to bring together the language of drawing and fiber arts.
