About the course

This painting course will deepen students’ understanding of how colour is used in artistic expression by investigating the role of colour for artists across practices and art history. Students will explore foundational principles of colour theory and practical application. By working with reference materials, observation, exercises, and hands-on demonstrations, students will create a vibrant body of work and cultivate an individual approach to the language of colour, adding depth and meaning to their paintings. Oil or acrylic. Prerequisite: one session of painting.
