Whether you're a devoted art lover or simply curious, this is the perfect opportunity to discover—or rediscover—a dynamic space of creativity and community that has thrived for nearly 80 years.
Explore our lively art school, be inspired by contemporary works of art at the McClure Gallery, and learn about ARTreach, our community outreach program.
✨On the agenda:
- A one-of-a-kind sidewalk sale featuring original ceramics and jewellery by our students (12-4pm)
- Interactive art demos and creative hives from 12-4 pm, with our drawing, textile, and printmaking instructors—perfect for getting hands-on experience with some of the mediums we teach at the VAC!
- An inspiring exhibition presented from 12-5 pm in the McClure Gallery, in partnership with ARTreach and WAGAR - a school for adults with intellectual and learning disabilities.
All activities are free and open to everyone! Come create, explore, connect, and most of all—have fun!
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ceramics and Jewellery Sale 12-4 pm
Sidewalk Sale featuring handmade creations by VAC students and teachers (outside under tent).
Drawing Demo 12-1:30 pm (Art Hive style)
One of our beloved drawing teachers will show you some of the techniques taught in our drawing courses, a great place to start if you’re a beginner or to fine-tune your skills. Outside or Studio E/Gallery.
Weaving Demo 1:30-3 pm (Art Hive style)
Dive into the world of textiles with Jessica Brouder. She will show you some basic techniques of creating with yarn and scraps of fabric. Studio E.
Print-making Demo in Studio E, Sarah 3-4 pm
In this special demo, Sarah Galarneau, our printmaking teacher, will show you some of the possibilities with ink and the printing press.
Wagar exhibition in gallery and book sale 12-5 pm
Since August 2023, the VAC has welcomed, on a daily basis, a group of students from Wagar, Adult Education Centre a school for adults with special needs. Come support their inspiring works!
