Andrea Williamson was born on Treaty 7 territory (Calgary) and studied in Halifax (NSCAD) and London, UK (Goldsmiths University) where she earned her Masters of Fine Art. Her work uses a variety of media from 3d animation to poetry, to give form to or interact within relationships between living beings in specific local ecologies. The mainstay of her practice is watercolour painting, which conveys a lightness and fluidity that she admires.
