Matthew Thomson is a multidisciplinary artist and art educator who holds a BFA in Studio Arts (2007), an MFA in Print Media (2013), and who is currently completing his BFA Specialization in Art Education (2020). Matthew has had solo exhibitions at Ymuno Exhibitions (Montreal) and the Flea Market Gallery (St-Catherine’s, ON), and has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions at venues such as Art Mûr, Espace Cercle-Carré, the Maison de la Culture Frontenac and the FOFA Gallery. Matthew has also exhibited work during Art Souterrain 2013 (Eaton’s Centre) and 2017 (Warren G. Flowers Gallery). Thomson’s artworks -poetic rearticulations of discarded objects from the street- are part of numerous private collections and have been featured in publications such as the InARTE Journal (2017 and 2018) and POIESIS XV (2013). Since 2013, Thomson has taught a variety of art classes at the Westmount Visual Arts Centre in both the Youth and Adult departments. He has also taught art in both elementary and high school since 2015.
