SUMMER Fine Arts Day Camp 2026: 6-12 year olds

The Visual Arts Centre welcomes you to another exciting and imaginative Fine Arts Summer Camp experience. The 2026 theme is "Visual Narratives". Campers will develop their creativity through exploring various artistic practices and mediums.

The camp takes place in a nurturing and accessible environment where personal artistic expression is encouraged. Creativity, connection, and collaboration are at the heart of our mission. Your child will not only create wonderful art but also build new friendships and lasting connections with fellow campers. Each morning begins with icebreaker activities—through conversation or movement—to help campers get to know one another, followed by an art class led by a professional artist-teacher. Afternoons include time outdoors and a collaborative art workshop.

Our students are placed in small, bilingual groups according to their age. This ensures that each child receives individual attention and is encouraged to advance at their own pace. Activities take place in our fully equipped, air-conditioned studios, as well as at Somerville Park or Prince Albert Park, where outdoor games and physical activity complement the afternoon programme. Once a week, campers will also visit the Westmount Recreation Centre swimming pool. The camp is bilingual; instruction is provided in both French and English, and we are happy to accommodate unilingual campers as well.

  • Registration fees are for one week of day camp
  • Students may be registered for multiple weeks
  • New projects are introduced each week
Important:

Registered children must have turned 6 years old by September 30, 2026, at the latest. The day camp schedule and projects are not suitable for younger children. The Centre reserves the right to ask for proof of age.

Special needs and Accessibility

We want to welcome each participant and ensure a harmonious integration of campers with special needs, therefore, your transparency and collaboration are very important. If your child has special needs, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss them with our staff so that we can best assess the possible accommodations for your child. For more information about accessibility, please click here.

Each year, the Visual Arts Centre (VAC) offers subsidies to defray day camp fees. We exclusively accept applications through CLSC workers or Batshaw Youth and Family Centers, but we invite other local organizations working with youth or families to contact us if they wish to discuss the possibility of participating in this subsidy program at the VAC day camp. At this time, we cannot accommodate requests directly from individuals or families.
