Mixed Media: Watercolour and Gouache

In this workshop, students will learn how to work and combine the material qualities of watercolour and gouache to create vibrant and embodied artworks. Watercolour and gouache are two water soluble mediums that work quite well together. Where watercolour is transparent and luminous, gouache is opaque and bright. Watercolour’s transparency allows for delicate washes and atmospheric effects, while gouache provides bold, opaque accents that add depth and contrast. No prerequisite.
